We use state of the art methods of molecular biology and bioinformatics to develop products that help to solve different health problems.
Dr. Zoltán Oláh and Dr. Michael Iadarola started the experimental studies of VR1/TRPV1 in 1997 on the East-cost, at the NIH, NIDCR (Bethesda, MD, USA) - parallel with the scientists of UCSF on the West-coast - with the version of the capsaicin receptor that was tagged with a fluorescent protein, which made it visible under fluorescent microscope. (Olah, Szabo, et al., 2001; Szabo, Olah, Iadarola, & Blumberg, 1999; Trier, Olah, Kleuser, & Schafer-Korting, 1999).
The functional capsaicin induced Ca2+-TRPV1 bioassay, that was developed in the process led to the discovery of the landmark of "Molecular Neurosurgery" mechanism of action. (Caudle et al., 2003; L. Karai et al., 2004; L. J. Karai
et al., 2004; Kedei et al., 2001; Neubert et al., 2003; Olah, Karai,
& Iadarola, 2001, 2002; Olah, Szabo, et al., 2001).
